The Greatest Super Bowl Ad Ever Was Made Here in Minnesota
Besides the on-field action between the Seahawks and the Patriots, many of us will be watching Super Bowl LX for the commercials. And while there will likely be some memorable ads this year, none of them, though, will be as good as this one, which was made right here in Minnesota.
As we know, the Super Bowl is one of the most-watched events not only here in the U.S. but across the world. Nielsen said last year’s game had an estimated audience of 127.7 million when the festivities took place at the Caesars Super Dome down in New Orleans.

This year, the Big Game is set to take place at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and experts are expecting an even bigger audience to consume the game, whether they're watching on NBC or streaming on Peacock, Hulu + Live TV, Tubi, YouTube TV, or NFL +.

According to The Independent, NBC announced back in September that it had sold out its commercial inventory for the telecast, with prices for a 30-second commercial running between 8 and 10 million dollars!
Several of those commercials have already dropped, including Oscar-winner Adrien Brody starring in an ad for TurboTax, Sabrina Carpenter appearing in an ad for Pringles, and Andy Samberg and Elle Fanning leading a Hellman’s commercial, The Independent story noted.

Why the Best Super Bowl Commercial Ever Was Made in Minnesota
While some of this year's crop do look kind of clever, none of them seem as good as this classic Super Bowl commercial that's still my favorite-- and it's one that was produced right here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
The commercial I'm talking about is now 26 years old. (Where does the time go?!?) It made its debut during Super Bowl XXXIV, back in January of 2000. That was the year the Rams were also involved (they beat the Titans), and it was also the year a lot of 'dot com' companies bought commercials during the Big Game.
One of them was the firm, Electronic Data Systems, or EDS. Their commercial, ‘Cat Herders’, was described by an advertising trade magazine like this:
“Cowboys talk about their life herding cats, describing the challenges of taking domesticated kitties (as opposed to longhorns) through the open country to their destination at the ranch.”
Remembering the 'Cat Herders' Ad by Minneapolis Agency Fallon
If you have cats, as we do, you'll no doubt get a kick out of it. And, it's extra cool in that it was produced right here in the North Star State by a Minnesota firm, too– at the ad agency, Fallon, in Minneapolis.
