Check your change jar Minnesota and Iowa!! This penny could be worth $60,000 dollars or more!

I don't remember the last time I used cash to purchase anything.

I always use my phone to pay now. I legit never have any cash, especially not change. Except for that one lonely quarter in my purse for my Aldi stops.

However, I do still have a few change jars in my house that have been left untouched for a looong time.

If you spot a penny that has the initials "VDB" you could be sitting on a gold mine!!

Go Banking Rates says that a rare 1909 Lincoln Penny with “VDB” on it sold at auction for $60,000 dollars. Holy crap!

What exactly is VDB?

It stands for Victor David Brenner who is a famous sculptor, engraver and medalist.

According to Go Banking Rates, "Brenner is a superstar in the world of coins (he’s perhaps best known for designing the Lincoln cent), and his initials go a long way in driving up a coin’s value."

I don't know about you, but I'm checking my change jar ASAP. And, I'm never leaving a penny on the ground ever again. Even if it is tail side up. ;)
