City Of Rochester Supports Restaurants Choosing to Sell Alcohol with To-Go Orders

Governor Walz has signed off on legislation that allows restaurants to sell alcohol with curbside or take out orders, and the City of Rochester is helping restaurants take advantage of the new rule. Starting today restaurants with liquor licenses can sell one bottle of wine, a 6-pack of beer, cider or seltzer with to-go orders.

The City of Rochester sent a press release expressing support for area restaurants that choose to offer alcohol. City Clerk Anissa Hollingshead said, “The City of Rochester is committed to working with any qualifying business wanting to take advantage of this new temporary provision to ensure their on-sale liquor licenses are up to date. Our office is fully staffed and stands ready to assist in processing any additional renewals as quickly as possible.” The city is waiving late fees for any businesses that have not yet renewed their annual liquor license.
