A very well placed source tells me she's had conversations with people in the know, and both the Hilton Garden Inn and The DoubleTree Inn, across the street, could be mothballing because so few guests are checking in.

The remaining guests are reportedly being moved to the new Hilton Hotel in Downtown Rochester.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise, as Mayo has delayed all non-emergency patient visits, tests, surgeries, etc. We talk about how much of an impact Mayo Clinic has on Rochester's business, and there are plenty of people that know the numbers.

But to imagine needing to temporarily shut down operations of two hotels, one of 'em a virtual landmark in Rochester (especially for people my age that remember when it was built and what a change it was for Rochester).
