Delta Adding Another Popular Flight Out of Minnesota This Winter
If you're looking to break up an acute case of cabin fever, Delta Air Lines just added another non-stop flight to another tropical warm-weather destination leaving from Minnesota this winter.
Living here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, we know that Old Man Winter can make an appearance in November and still be hanging around nearly 6 months later in April. So if you're looking to ditch the snow and cold, Delta Air Lines is making it easier to find some fun in the sun and just announced they're adding a new non-stop flight from Minnesota this popular warm-weather destination.
The travel site, Thrifty Traveler, has the good news about this new Caribbean route that Delta will be servicing for the first time:
According to a Delta spokesperson, the airline will begin selling direct flights from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (PLS). It will be the first time Delta has operated the route.
Thrifty Traveler also noted that those flights went on sale on Saturday, October 30th, 2023. This new non-stop route will operate on Saturdays only, beginning January 20th, 2024 and running through April 2024.
Now, if you want to head down to Turks & Caicos before this new route is active, you can. But your trip won't be non-stop, flying first from MSP to Delta's hub in Atlanta and then on to Providenciales. According to Delta's website, economy flights leaving the Bold North on the Thanksgiving weekend (November 23, 2023) and returning six days later (November 29, 2023) are selling for around $665.

If heading to the Turks & Caicos isn't your thing, earlier this year, Delta announced it was adding service to five OTHER tropical locations: According to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal, Delta is expanding its seasonal routes, also effective December 16th, 2023 from MSP in Bloomington to the following warm-weather locations:
- San Juan, Puerto Rico
- Montego Bay, Jamaica
- Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
- Belize City, Belize
- Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
The story says the expanded seasonal offerings mean Delta will start daily service to Puerto Rico and Jamaica while adding two extra weekly trips to Punta Cana, one additional flight per week to Belize, and one additional weekly trip to Puerta Vallarta.
