If you're out of the Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP), you could soon get a taste of luxury, thanks to a sleek new upgrade from Delta Air Lines.

Delta Launches MSP Airport Upgrade for Luxury Travelers

MSP is, of course, the largest airport in the North Star State. It's been voted the Best Airport in North America again this year, an honor it has won several times. Airlines at MSP served 163 nonstop destinations from the North Star State in 2023, up from 156 destinations in 2023 and 145 destinations in 2022.

While 18 different airlines offer service at MSP, Delta Air Lines by far offers the most. Delta says it runs nearly 330 departures from MSP to 119 destinations across the globe, offering nonstop service to international destinations like Amsterdam, Paris, London, Seoul, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Mexico City, Tokyo-Haneda, and more.

Delta also serves multiple cities in Canada from MSP, including Montréal, Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, and Toronto, and is currently the only carrier at MSP to provide nonstop service to Asia, it says.

Just last month, we found out that Delta also happened to be the airline with the best on-time performance here in Minnesota and in the entire country during the busy travel season this past summer.

Delta One Check-In Brings Exclusive Perks to MSP

And now there's word that Delta is rolling out the red carpet for high-end customers here in the North Star State. According to travel site The Points Guy, Delta is set to debut a new, fancy, semi-private check-in area for Minnesota fliers at MSP who book a 'Delta One' ticket later this year.

In case you didn't know, Delta One is pretty much Delta's top-of-the-line ticket, which it describes as 'our most premium travel experience, designed to make every moment feel personal, indulgent and effortless.'

The Points Guy story says that these new check-in areas at MSP will be even nicer than the existing Delta SkyPriority lanes that are available to Delta's SkyMiles Medallion and SkyTeam elite members. These new areas will be separate from other check-in areas and will offer some other perks as well:

Like at some of the airline's other hubs, expect the walled-off space to sport a complement of welcome snacks, coffee and water, offering a respite from the often chaotic airport lobby.

MSP Travelers to Get VIP Access With Delta One

However, not just *anyone* will be able to access these new high-end areas here in Minnesota and also at Delta's terminal in Salt Lake City, Utah. The story you'll need to have a ticket marketed as 'Delta One' to take advantage of this new high-end area, meaning, yeah, it'll likely cost you a few more dollars to use this new perk.

As most Minnesotans know, Delta merged with Minneapolis-based Northwest Airlines back in 2008. Northwest was one of those brands that was once huge here in Minnesota (kind of like Dayton's also was), but that now no longer exists. Which is the same for many of the following famous brands.
