Dog and Goat Attempt Minnesota Road Trip
It was a sight you don't often see here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes-- or anywhere, for that matter-- making their way along a Minnesota highway last weekend.
It was a dog and a goat, and they were off to see the sights on a uniquely Minnesota road trip. According to a Tweet from the Minnesota State Patrol, the pair were spotted along a stretch of Highway-61 near Hastings last Saturday.
According to the Patrol, various other drivers had called to report the motley duo as they meandered along the shoulder of the highway, concerned they might get hit.
Luckily, Lt. Gordon Shank was able to catch up with the pair and keep them corralled until Animal Control officers could arrive to escort them off the highway.
In an update to the original post, the Patrol said Tuesday that after doing a little follow up, both the dog and goat had escaped from the same location, and are owned by the same family.
And, they're quite the couple, apparently. The Patrol said they appeared to be "very attached to one another."
Aww. That would have been quite the site to see. (Can you imagine seeing something like that along Highway-14 here in our neck of the woods?!?) I'm glad it all ended well, and that the two animal friends will remain together. I only wish they could tell us where they were headed!
