Don’t Forget To Watch The Last Supermoon Of The Year TONIGHT!

Just a heads-up, but the Rochester skyline is going to have a fun little surprise tonight. Actually, 'little' might not be the best word. That's because the 'super worm equinox moon' is set to illuminate the sky tonight.

In case you don't know, a supermoon is a full moon that's reached the closest point to Earth in its monthly orbit around the planet. Basically, it means you're gonna see a big ol' moon when you look outside this evening.

More importantly, this is also the last supermoon you'll get to see in 2019, so don't miss out! For the record, the moon won't be completely full until around 8:43 p.m. tonight. You shouldn't need any special equipment to view it.

By the way, why is it also called a "worm moon," you may ask? That's because of an old folklore tradition where a March full moon occurs when the frosty ground is melting and earthworms start to appear. Although based on the weather we've been having, I'm not too sure if the worms are ready to emerge quite yet.
