The giant Happy Chef statue outside the Mankato Happy Chef restaurant on Highway 169 is one of those things you just remember seeing, and for some hearing. The tall talking statue is in need of some new material, and the owners are asking the public's help.

The Happy Chef restaurant posted on its Facebook page back in June that it was looking for some 'G-Rated' one-liners that could be added to its talking database. The statue right now as it stands rotates through some fun sayings and of course welcomes the guests and patrons as they walk by the spoon-wielding statue out front.

So if you are feeling creative, and can manage to keep it G-Rated head over to the restaurant's Facebook page and leave your best one-liner. I've combed through some of the submissions that have been made and here are a few of the ones I think have a chance for making the final cut.

For those wanting to submit a liner for the chef, you have until this Saturday to do it. You can submit your lines through the restaurant's Facebook page, which you can find a link to right here.

For those wondering the chef didn't always talk, as there was a period that he was broken, KARE 11 in the Twin Cities covered the story of when the Chef found his new voice, which you can watch below.

Finally here is a little bit of history about the last standing Happy Chef, which of course is the one in Mankato.
