Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - One more academic year. That’s the future now facing Friedell Middle School after the Rochester School Board Tuesday approved a recommendation to close the site...Keeping the school open would have cost the district an extra $1.4-million per year.

Levi Lundak, the Friedell Middle School Principal, announced a celebration event for prior and current students, family, and staff. Wednesday evening, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, the free event will include food trucks, entertainment, handprint and selfie stations, and more (I always hope the "more" will be an impromptu Lady Gaga concert or flying monkeys...it never is, but I can keep hoping).

The parking lot isn't huge, and Friedell staff ask that the space be reserved for those with mobility issues. Everyone else, please park south of Denny's in the park-and-ride lots.
