One of Rochester's favorite winter events, Festival of Trees, will continue on in 2020 but due to Covid-19, it will not be held at the Mayo Civic Center.

According to an e-mail from Hiawatha Homes, Festival of Trees - A Celebration of Giving, will continue on in the community but instead of taking place at the Mayo Civic Center, the event will happen at various locations throughout the community and also online.

At Hiawatha Homes, we have been diligently working to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in every aspect of our operations. For the 2020 Festival of Trees - A Celebration of Giving, our focus is to respond and move forward with positivity and motivation to make it another great event. We look forward to partnering with you, our fellow community members, in support of the HH mission. As we navigate through these unprecedented times, we have made the decision that the event will not be held at the Mayo Civic Center in 2020, but rather disbursed throughout our community and presented online.

After weeks of discussion and scenario planning, we feel that moving the event into the community and online is our best course of action and will ensure the successful navigation of continually changing safety recommendations. Our goal is to stay true to the core pieces of the event without hosting a physical event in one location. This is an exciting opportunity and we plan to embrace the unique situation as we move forward with the planning and decision making.  - info from e-newsletter from Hiawatha Homes

The Festival of Trees Committee and Foundation team is still working on the entire plan and would love to hear your ideas and thoughts too.  They welcome your input and are encouraging everyone that would like to add to the planning to reach out to Lindsay Birr, Development Associate at 507-601-8871 or lbirr@hiawathahomes.org.
