I don't know about you, but I love bananas! The only thing that drives me insane is they have a very short shelf life, so if you don't eat them fast enough, they will be mushy and black! I decided to ask the people of Rochester on Facebook how they store their bananas in this Facebook post.

Here are some of the great tips people shared on how to store bananas!

I never heard of this until this comment. I'm definitely going to try this. I can see how putting bananas in the refrigerator would help a bunch. The brown bag is the only thing that I'm confused about. How does this help? Does it help because the bananas are exposed to less oxygen? Hmmm I'm going to have to do more research on this one.

This one I have heard of! My roommate back in college used to do this! Plastic wrap is a necessity for every kitchen, so that makes this one super easy to do! The trick is remembering to tighten the plastic wrap after you take one!

Freezers are amazing because they stop the aging process of fruits and veggies! So yes, placing them in the freezer is great if you plan on using them later. I've even dipped them in chocolate before freezing them, so I have a late night sweet treat!

From this post, I got a lot of suggestions on what to do with bad bananas. Banana bread and banana bars were the most popular suggestions I got. It's a great way to make sure that the bananas don't go to waste.

I'm not going to lie! This was my favorite comment. It's a link to a google search on how to store bananas! Apparently separating them helps them last longer as well as hanging them. If I would have started with Google, I would have never had to create this post.

So my conclusion is people that live in Rochester buy greener bananas and use the black ones for banana bread.
