Winona, MN (KROC-AM News) -  A judge in Winona County has found a former Rochester woman competent to stand trial for a hit and run incident in March that left another woman with significant injuries.

The judge ordered a psychological evaluation for 32-year-old Cherise Dale, who now has a Kasson address, shortly after she was charged with a felony count of criminal vehicular operation. She is accused of driving a vehicle that either struck or dragged a woman who was found lying on a street in Rollingstone with significant facial and other injuries.

Witnesses reported that Dale had taken the other woman's phone while they were fighting. The criminal complaint says she then got inside her vehicle and refuse to return the phone to the victim, who ended up being dragged by Dale's vehicle when she sped away.

She is due back in court for a hearing in late December.
