Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Several candidates for local offices that are up for election this year filed the required paperwork and fees Tuesday, the first day of filings.

Those who filed for Rochester city council seats were: Greg Munson for Randy Staver’s seat, Mark Bransford for Michael Wojcik’s seat, Kelly Rae Kirkpatrick for Mark Bilderbgack’s seat and Todd Pisarski for the seat held by Annalissa Johnson.

There were four filings for the Rochester School Board:  Deborah Seelinger filed for re-election and is facing a challenge from Karen MacLaughlin. Mark Schleusner also filed for a new term and is facing a challenge from Dr. Jess Garcia for his seat.

Three incumbent Olmsted County commissioners filed for re-election:  Stephanie Podulke, Gregg Wright and Jim Bier.

Filings will be open for two weeks. If more than two candidates file for a seat, that office will appear on the ballot as part of the August 11 primary.
