It wasn't even a year ago that Frontier Airlines announced it was adding these direct routes from Minnesota, but now it just said it's cutting four of them.

If you're looking to plan a vacation for next year, Frontier Airlines just gave Minnesotans four fewer options-- even though they are the same direct flights the low-cost carrier first introduced earlier this year.

Traveling has been steadily increasing in the years since the pandemic shut everything down in 2020 and forced us to stay home, which is likely why Frontier Airlines announced back in January that it was adding 38 non-stop routes across the U.S. and the Caribbean, including 5 new flights from the Land of 10,000 Lakes.

Frontier Airlines, an ultra-low fare carrier based in Denver, Colorado, said back in January that those flights would debut in the spring, flying out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) in Bloomington, Frontier said in a release.

However, travel site Travel+Leisure published a story earlier this week saying Frontier is now suspending 40 'less profitable' flights across the country through next spring, and that four of those five direct routes from MSP on now on that list.

Travel+Leisure noted that the above flights from MSP to Atlanta, MSP to Cleveland, MSP to Cincinnati and MSP to Philadelphia are all being suspended, at least through mid-April 2025, according to Frontier's latest flight schedule.

Frontier Airlines, being one of the low-cost carriers, has a much smaller footprint than other, more traditional airlines, like Delta Air Lines, which of course, operates a major hub at MSP here in the Bold North.

Speaking of traveling, while Frontier may be cutting routes from our fair state, there are many other flights still available on a variety of other airlines that all have service here in Minnesota.
