Fundraiser For Rochester Police Officer Who Has Stage IV Cancer
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A fundraiser has been started for a veteran Rochester police officer who is dealing with a serious case of cancer.
The GoFundMe site was set up to benefit Officer Tony “TJ” Jacobson and his family.
According to the organizer of the site, Jacobson was diagnosed with a rare pancreatic tumor that had spread to his liver. After testing, it was determined he had developed Stage IV pancreatic cancer.
According to the site, “it was determined that TJ is a candidate for surgery to remove the cancer from his pancreas and liver. This will be a difficult and painful process for him along with an extensive recovery period. As the Jacobsens go through this journey, they are going to need all the help and support that friends, family and others can provide. The treatments and medical bills, as well as lost time from work, will undoubtedly create a financial hardship.”
The goal of the fundraiser is $18,000.
