Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Back to $2 a gallon.

Gasoline prices have been rising steadily the last few weeks and many stations in southeast Minnesota were selling regular gas for $2 per gallon as of Wednesday morning.

That’s up more than 50 cents a gallon since they bottomed several weeks ago due to record low oil prices and a sharp drop in demand caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some Red Wing stations were selling regular for a buck a gallon.

According to the GasBuddy website, the average price in Minnesota Thursday afternoon was $1.82 a gallon. That’s 30-cents higher than a month ago but 90-cents lower than a year ago.
