Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Gas for under a buck in Minnesota? No, it’s not an April Fool’s Day joke.

VP Racing Fuel in Red Wing was selling its E-88 grade for 94 cents a gallon Wednesday. Its regular grade is selling for 99 cents a gallon.

Spokesman Mike Wilson told KROC AM News he expects even lower prices in the short-term. He says it's likely they will remain low for the unforseen future due to the economc downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and a price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

GasBuddy Minnesota’s website indicates as of Wednesday morning, the statewide average in Minnesota was $1.84. Rochester’s average was around $1.65. Prices a year ago were nearly a dollar higher.
