George Strait is working on something big to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. The country icon teased his plans on Twitter on Tuesday (Aug. 29), revealing that something is in the works, but offering up few details for the time being.

"We are working on putting together relief efforts with the whole country music community," Strait wrote in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon. The message is signed with Strait's initials, "GS," to let followers know that the note came directly from Strait himself.

Born in Poteet, Texas, a small town in the southern part of the state, Strait owns a house in Rockport, one of the areas hit hard during Hurricane Harvey. In another tweet, Strait shared that his family and friends were "personally affected" by the storm, though he did not give further details as to what that means exactly.

In addition to Strait, a number of other country artists have stepped up to help with Hurricane Harvey relief efforts: Chris Young has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help raise money for those affected by the natural disaster, encouraging his fans to donate whatever they can to the fund, which will be given to the Red Cross and other local Texas disaster relief organizations, and giving $100,000 himself. Young says he also plans to get involved with other, larger fundraising campaignsMiranda Lambert, meanwhile, with her MuttNation Foundation, headed to the affected parts of Texas to do whatever they can for the animals displaced by the storm.

Also helping Hurricane Harvey victims are Granger SmithLuke Combs, Lady Antebellum and the Josh Abbott Band. Smith, a Dallas, Texas, native, is now donating 100 percent of profits from merchandise sales through his online store to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts; Lady A, too, donated merch proceeds, specifically from their Saturday night (Aug. 26) concert in Dallas, to hurricane-related charities. Combs, meanwhile, tweeted that he would be donating $10,000 to Samaritan’s Purse, “a non-denominational evangelical Christian" that's sending five disaster relief teams to help Hurricane Harvey victims, and the Josh Abbott Band are selling a special T-shirt and donating the proceeds to “accredited organizations helping in disaster recovery.”
