North winds continue to blow smoke from wildfires in Canada into Minnesota and more may be on the way. The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency says air quality in most areas should fall below alert levels by Friday afternoon.

But the PCA also says:

“Unfortunately the improved air quality will be short-lived. A cold front will push through on Saturday and another shot of smoke will arrive Saturday/Saturday night and linger through at least Sunday.”

This will likely produce another round of air quality alerts.

The most recent air quality report from the Rochester area shows the particulates level is in the range that is unhealthy for sensitive groups.
