Here's a head's up about a big headache you could encounter if you're flying out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport this spring.

My wife and spent a few days down in New Orleans a few weeks ago and as we were going through the TSA security line at the Twin Cities airport in Bloomington, two different officials told us to get to there an hour early if you're flying out of MSP anytime in March-- due mainly to the extra spring break travelers. (You can read more about that warning HERE.)

But now, there's ANOTHER reason you'll want to give yourself more time to get the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport-- and this one could delay you before you even set foot on the concourse.

Is it a delay due to the coronavirus? Nope-- it's actually a warning from MnDOT about upcoming construction in and around MSP in Bloomington. They're starting a major construction project along Minnesota Highway-5-- the main highway that leads to the Twin Cities Airport. That could lead to 'Increased traffic on detour routes around the airport,' MnDOTnoted.

But wait, there's more: MnDOT is also doing other road construction projects in the Twin Cities near the airport that could cause some significant delays. Look for orange barrels on 'bridge and ramp work that impacts the routes where Highways 5/55/62 meet,' and 'Additional bridge and ramp work east of MSP Airport at 494/35E,' MnDOT said.

In fact, according to MnDOT, starting in April, "Plan to give yourself an extra hour on the road if you’re headed to MSP Airport..." the MnDOT Around The Airport page noted. Yikes! You can read more about it HERE. Good luck!
