Thursday, November 14 is the 11th annual Give to the Max Day across Minnesota where more than $170 million for more than 10,000 Minnesota-based causes is raised. to help celebrate the occasion, GiveMN is encouraging Minnesota to participate in a new way.

Tweeting to the max. Minnesotans are encouraged to post a 280-character tweet with #TweetToTheMax that explains why they give to their chosen nonprofit or school. Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen kicked off the campaign with a video posted to Twitter, explaining how donors can participate. Those who participate are eligible to be rewarded with a bonus $280 donation in their honor, courtesy of GiveMN and its partners, according to a release.

“As we enter our second decade of Give to the Max Day, we continue to be blown away by the incredible generosity of our communities for Minnesota’s own giving holiday,” said Jake Blumberg, executive director, GiveMN. “This year, we wanted to give our neighbors a chance to share what inspires them to give, and maybe even engage first-time donors by helping them learn what motivates their friends and family.”

“Give to the Max Day is a great example of why I love Minnesota so much,” Thielen said in the video. “My wife and I started The Thielen Foundation to give back to the community that has given us so much to us. GiveMN does the same by raising millions of dollars with nonprofits around this area.”

This year, the Give To The Max Day Prize Pool will also help support nonprofits and schools thanks to the continued generosity of the Bush Foundation. On Nov. 14, Give to the Max Day, GiveMN will award:
• $500 Golden Ticket prizes every 15 minutes.
• $1,000 Hourly Golden Ticket prizes hourly.
• The grand prize of Give to the Max Day, a $10,000 Super-Sized Golden Ticket.
• $6,000 Power Hour Prizes, shared among the top three organizations based on donations between 10:00-10:59 a.m. and 10:00-10:59 p.m.
