Did you know that in 2022, over 700 unique individuals who are experiencing homelessness in the Rochester, Minnesota community were helped by The Landing MN?  Yes, that number is correct and we aren't even close to the final month of 2022 so it will be even higher.  If you've ever wondered how you can help those experiencing homelessness in our community, you will want to grab tickets while you can for the 2nd Annual A Holiday of Hope Gala on December 1st.

A Holiday of Hope Gala is Back for its 2nd year in Rochester, Minnesota

A few months ago, on a night that was about 85 degrees, I went on the truck that goes out to help those in our community that are in the parks and living in various spots throughout Rochester.  I'll be honest - I don't have conversations with those who are experiencing homelessness very often, but that night, I learned so much and just chatted with people who didn't have a roof over their heads that night.  I handed them clothes that were in the truck, some food if they were hungry and quite a few bottles of water.  I have a really hard time with names - so sorry if I ever forget yours - but I NEVER forget a conversation, and I honestly had some of the best conversations with people that night who are needing our help right now.  Thankfully, there are several organizations in our area that help those struggling with homelessness and one of those is The Landing MN.

As the organization is getting ready to open their new day center in downtown Rochester, they are also planning their 2nd annual event where the community can come together, learn more about the organization, hear the stories of individuals who have received help by The Landing MN, and enjoy an amazing meal and a few fun surprises too.

The holidays are all about traditions - this year, we are continuing one of our own. ✨
