Guess We Can’t Play This Childhood Game Anymore
Back in the day, it was the best game to play. Any excuse to punch your siblings, right?! Psh, I know I'm not the only one that played. Every time a Volkswagen Beetle would cross your path, you'd reach over and slug your sibling. "Slug bug, what color, what color, what color?" Well, that game is about to come to an end. In fact, it's the car that's ending.
Did you see that they are planning to discontinue the Beetle? Apparently, they just aren't as popular as they once were. Hey, I thought adding the lashes to the headlights was an awesome move. Long lashes make everything more beautiful.
The Beetle became popular after the 1968 Disney film "The Love Bug." Everybody wanted their own "Herbie." Volkswagen sold about 423,000 Beetles in the US that year. In the 90's, they sold 80,000 Beetles a year, down to just 15,000 in 2017. - Business Insider.
After 70 years on the lot, the Beetle will be no more in 2019.
