Hayfield, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is indicating icy conditions contributed to a traffic crash Wednesday morning that took the life of a Hayfield teenager.

Sheriff Scott Rose issued a press release today that says 16-year-old Macy Holtan was driving a car that slid on some ice while she was navigating a curve on a rural road southeast of Hayfield along the Dodge-Mower County line just after 8 AM. The car traveled into the oncoming lane and collided with a semi-truck.

Sheriff Rose says Holtan had to be extricated from the wreckage. She was transported by Mayo One to St. Mary's hospital where she died from her injuries. The driver of the truck was not hurt.
