Here Are The 10 Commandments of Winter Driving in Minnesota
Sure, there's no snow on the ground.. yet. BUT, we live in Minnesota, so it's only a matter of time.
To saveth thy asseth, here are the 10 commandments for driving during Minnesota Winters.
Visibility is low,
Visibility is not clear.
Turn on your lights,
So they can see your rear.
I know, it's tempting to clear just a little circle so you can see out the window, so you can get inside the warmish car as quickly as possible. BUT, don't do it. Don't forget to clear off those brake lights and turn signals too.
All wheel drive is wonderful, but it cannot save you from everything. Slow down, buckle up, and be careful!
Winter, summer, night, day, it doesn't really matter when or where it is, stop tailgating! Just a friendly reminder, the tailgater pays for the damage when one is rear ended... Just saying.
Not just jumper cables or safety cones. A shovel, good boots, and a blanket are a must!
Just because you have a big truck and 4 wheel drive, does not mean thou shalt drive like a jerk.
Whether you look online or call 511, make sure the roads between you and your destination are safe enough to travel.
You just never know when the evil black ice monster will show his face again - slow down!
One of my biggest pet peeves every season. While we have many talents, reading your mind is not one of them...
Share your location OR download an app like Life360. Best! App! Ever! As a mom of a new driver, this calms the mind. You can see location AND how fast they're driving.
