Normally considered fly-over country, our great state has been recognized not once, but twice this week nationally for two completely different stories that have captured everyone's hearts.

The week kicked off with a feel-good moment that was shared on the diamond during the end of a high school baseball game between Mounds View and Totino-Grace. A video captured Mounds View pitcher Ty Koehn showing how to win with class, because as soon as he struck out the last batter, who also happens to be a long-time childhood friend, instead of immediately rushing to celebrate with his teammates after the final pitch he chose to console his friend and congratulate him on an amazing season.

The video, which you can watch below, has been viewed over 3 million times and has been featured on some of the biggest names in sports like ESPN's SportsCenter, plus multiple outlets including CBS Sports, NPR, Deadspin, Sports Illustrated, Barstool Sports and Sporting News:

What came next was something you'd see out of a movie as one lonely critter caught the attention of thousands on social media for its death-defying antics. Yep, a poor raccoon decided he desperately wanted to scale the UBS Tower in downtown St. Paul yesterday afternoon and for many watching down-below it was scary scene for the onlookers.

The raccoon, dubbed the #MPRRaccoon, began trending across social media as Twin Cities outlets like FOX 9 and KARE 11 live streamed the events as the unfolded on Facebook where millions (including myself) tuned in to watch what would happen. What's even more hilarious was the fact he decided to take a nap halfway up his accent towards the top! (Hey I get it, that has to be tiring!)

Thankfully this story also ended with a happy ending, with the raccoon making it safely to the roof of the tower in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

What happens next in this state is anyone's guess, but the good news it's only Wednesday so there's still time. You know what they say about the rule of three...
