St Paul (KROC AM News) - Some positive news concerning Minnesota’s current flu season.

The Minnesota Dept. of Health is reporting flu activity is now classified as regional for the first time since early December. Activity had been classified as widespread (the highest ranking) until last week when it was lowered.

The department’s current weekly report shows the number of influenza-related deaths has risen to 135, an increase of 21 from the previous week.

The number of flu-related hospitalizations since the season began has grown to 4,000.
