13 Thoughts That People Experience While Running Outside In Minnesota
It's the time of year when more runners can be seen on sidewalks and side roads throughout Minnesota, either training for an upcoming race or just getting exercise.
I'm one of them, and not just because I'm signed up again for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon in Duluth. The truth is, I run year-round, but I'm not hardcore enough to bundle up and run outside in the cold winter months. Although it's boring, those are the times I'm on a treadmill.
However, now that I'm back running outside, I'm reminded of how much I enjoy it, despite the potential danger of inattentive drivers. Recently, I was running on a sidewalk and a car nearly hit me while pulling out of a parking lot because they were focused on looking for cars approaching, but not people on the sidewalk.
That was a close call, and it's just one of the 13 things that go through my mind on nearly every run. I think all runners will relate to the list below.

Also, for the sake of all runners and walkers out there, as things warm up, let's agree to be extra cautious while driving our vehicles.
