Here's something to celebrate: Minnesota just made a list very fitting ahead of the Fourth of July holiday. This will give you an extra reason to celebrate come July.

Ahead of the Fourth, WalletHub has released a list of the most patriotic states in the country. You may not think of Minnesota as patriotic but it actually cracked the top ten, which is pretty impressive if you ask me.

WalletHub released the list and more insight into how they came up with this ranking. I definitely don't think of Minnesota as being overly patriotic but I am sure glad we made this list.

So which state was named the most patriotic and why did Minnesota do so well here? Let's look a little deeper into this study.

To determine their ranking, WalletHub analysts looked at a bunch of different factors, including the average number of military enlistees per capita, veterans per capita, peace corps volunteers per capita and more.

They also looked at how many people voted in the last election and the volunteer rate. Using all of these factors, they carefully crafted their list of the most patriotic states in the country.

Minnesota Makes Top Ten List Of Most Patriotic States In America

Minnesota came in at number nine, making it one of the most patriotic states in the country. While Minnesota is cited as having one of the lowest averages when it comes to military enlistees, we made up for it with our high volunteer rate.

As for the most patriotic state there is? That would be Virginia, which makes sense. Montana came in at number two, while Arkansas and New York round out the bottom two on this list. I would have thought New York would be near the top.

Better luck next year, I guess. By the way, Wisconsin came in at number 25, right in the middle. I guess Wisconsin also has some work to do to become a little bit more patriotic. Sigh.

Stunning Minnesota Home For Sale On Lake Superior Actually Has Rooftop Pickleball

Welcome to 1430 Stoney Point Drive, which sits on 2.07 acres and includes approximately 250 feet of private shoreline on Lake Superior.

The heart of the home is a dramatic kitchen, dining, and great room where two full stories of floor-to-ceiling windows pull the water directly into the space.

The oversized kitchen anchors it all, with a massive center island that seats five, double ovens, a smart refrigerator, and a large walk-in pantry. Down the hall, the primary suite wakes you up to Lake Superior views every morning, with a soaking tub and a 10x14 custom walk-in closet rounding out the retreat.

The upper floors add a lofted office overlooking the great room, a workout space framed by sweeping lake views, an additional bedroom and bath, and approximately 1,300 square feet of unfinished space, ready for whatever vision you bring.

However, the features that truly set this home apart are the ones nobody sees coming.

Step outside from the upper level, and you're on a rooftop pickleball court. Head downstairs, and there's a half basketball court in the basement.

The first floor, which was previously used as a short-term rental, includes a second full kitchen, bath, and laundry. A heated four-car attached garage completes the picture.

Stoney Point is nationally known among freshwater surfing enthusiasts, and this property puts you right at the edge of it, along with your own private shoreline to fish for lake trout, paddle out, or let the sound of Lake Superior do its thing.
