Wisconsin DNR Teams Up With DMV To Make Park Visits Easier
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has teamed up with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's DMV to make access to State parks simpler.
Wisconsin residents have another option to get their 12-month Wisconsin state park and forest vehicle admission pass. Now, residents who register their vehicle online or in person at the self-service kiosks can purchase their vehicle admission pass at the same time.

Vehicle admission passes are required for entry to Wisconsin State Parks. The passes come in the form of a sticker that residents place on the front corner of their vehicle's windshield.
The new option allows a resident to purchase one vehicle admission per vehicle registration transaction. It simplifies the process for residents and ensures a timely reminder for your yearly State Park pass.
The cost for residents is $28 for a 12-month vehicle admission pass. Seniors 65 and older can purchase a pass for $13.

The Wisconsin DNR shared the information on their Facebook page. While most residents appreciated the new option to pay, many asked for a different option other than the window sticker. As some point out, having a sticker pass is difficult when you have multiple vehicles, as they can only be placed on one per fee. Also, removing the stickers can be a difficult process as they tend to leave residue behind when removed.
The Wisconsin DNR affirms that the only acceptable method to display your vehicle pass is on the front windshield. They are researching other methods of annual admission, including those used by other states.
