$1.78M Minnesota Lottery Winner has Come Forward

You buy a ticket for the Minnesota Lottery, or the Powerball or whatever get rich lottery thing that is available and it's like "buying hope".  Then you don't win, and you just move on with your life.

Except this time.

A guy from Minnesota won the lump sum cash amount of $1.78 Million in the Lotto America Minnesota.  He actually won $3.73 but taking the cash option was $1.78 Million.  Not a bad day.

The guy, who gets to keep his idenity secret in Minnesota, purchased his ticket at the Cub Foods in Roseville.  The grocery store received a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.  What does this person plan to do with the money?  He said he plans on paying off his mortgage and other debts and he might as well buy a new car while he's at it.

Per the lottery, the winner told the Minnesota Lottery he was in "disbelief" when he checked his tickets, saying: "I double checked the numbers, and then I texted my friend, and said, 'Call me'. I told them not to tell anybody, but you know how that goes."

Tickets are only a dollar in Lotto American with jackpots starting at $2 million.

What would you do with the money if you won the lottery?  I get that it does depend on how much you win, but I think paying off a mortgage would be first on the list for me too.
