Jail Sentence and Probation For Major Drug Bust in Lake City
Wabasha, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Lake City man has been sentenced to four months in jail for a conviction stemming from a significant drug bust last fall.
A Wabasha County judge today also ordered 24-year-old Noah Gernes to pay a $3000 fine. He also received a stayed four-year prison sentence that he could be required to serve if he fails to meet the terms of his five years on probation.
Gernes earlier entered a guilty plea to a second-degree drug sales charge in exchange for the dismissal of first and third-degree drug charges. He was charged last November after the Wabasha County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at a Lake City apartment.
Court documents say the investigators confiscated more than a pound of hallucinogenic mushrooms along with 11 pounds of suspected marijuana and marijuana wax, and an undisclosed amount of ecstasy that had been laced with fentanyl. Investigators also found about $80,000 in cash in the residence.
