
Pine Island Man Accused of Committing Theft Spree at Rochester Apartment Complex
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Pine Island man is facing felony charges for an alleged theft spree at a Rochester apartment building.

That’s according to a criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court on Monday.
The court document says the alleged crime spree occurred on the morning of January 3.
Pine Island Man Facing Felony Burglary & Theft Charges for Apartment Theft Spree
44-year-old Johnattan Joel Golderos Lopez is charged with third-degree burglary and theft.
The criminal complaint alleges he was seen on video burglarizing three vehicles at an unnamed northwest Rochester apartment complex.

The owner of one of the vehicles reported her purse and other items were stolen from her vehicle, which was parked in a surface lot. She estimated a loss of $400 in property due to the theft, the complaint says.
A second victim reported two bicycles, each valued at $700, were stolen from a parking space he rents in the apartment’s parking garage, the charges say.

The third victim reported a disassembled metal detector, valued at $175 dollars, and a $25 hand-cranked radio was stolen out of their vehicle, which was parked in the underground garage, according to the complaint.
Camera in Parking Garage Helps Police ID Theft Suspect
Rochester police identified Golderos Lopez as the suspect through a review of surveillance camera footage.
He was seen loading items into his vehicle while he was in the underground garage, the charges state.
The complaint indicates he does not live at the complex and that he gained entry to the garage by closely following a vehicle that had access to it.
Rochester Theft Suspect Admits to Selling Stolen Items to Buy Drugs
Police took Golderos Lopez into custody on Friday. During an interview with investigators, Golderos Lopez admitted to stealing the items from the garage and selling them so he could buy drugs, the complaint says.
The combined value of the property he’s accused of stealing totals $2,000, the court document states.
Golderos Lopez made his first court appearance on Monday. His bail was set at $30,000 without conditions and he’s due back in court later this month.
