(VIDEO) DNR Officer Rescued by Helicopter Near Plainview
Plainview, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota State Patrol has released information about a recent helicopter rescue that occurred near Plainview last week.
Officials say a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources conservation officer was injured when she fell nearly 20 feet while removing an illegal deer stand in the Whitewater Wildlife Management Area. The incident occurred in a heavily wooded area with steep terrain, which prevented rescuers on the ground from transporting her to safety.

That led to the dispatch of a State Patrol helicopter and rescuers from the St. Paul Fire Department. The State Patrol says they used a hoist rescue to lift her out of the rugged terrain and to a location where she could receive medical treatment.

A news release says Officer Annette Schlag is now at home and is expected to make a full recovery.
