Driver Critically Hurt After Rollover, Ejection Crash Near Dover
Dover, MN (KROC-AM News)- A young man suffered serious injuries caused by a crash south of I-90 in rural Olmsted County.
Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office Captain Tim Parkin said the single-vehicle crash occurred around 3 a.m. on Christmas Eve. It was reported to dispatch by a crash detection device.
Responding deputies found the single vehicle at the intersection of County Roads 30 and 180, which is about 9 miles northeast of Dover. The compact car was described to have suffered significant damage that was likely caused by a rollover.
Parkin said deputies initially did not find the driver in the area. A search of the scene led to discovery of the man about 150 feet from the car he was driving, leading investigators to believe he was ejected.
The man, described as an individual in his 20’s, was taken from the scene to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. At last update he is reported to be in critical condition.
Parkin said the young man was the lone occupant in the vehicle. The crash victim’s name has not been released.
