Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A former Chatfield man has admitted to sexually abusing a young child.

Olmsted County court records indicate that 41-year-old Theodore Allen Mapstone Peters entered a guilty plea earlier this week to a charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct. He is scheduled to be sentenced in October.

Court Records Detail Years of Alleged Sexual Abuse

According to the criminal complaint against Peters, who now has a Minneapolis address, Chatfield police opened an investigation in October 2024 after investigators were told that Peters had been sexually assaulting the victim for several years, beginning when she was 8 years old.

A Daily Occurrence

When interviewed by investigators, the court document says the victim described numerous instances of sexual abuse. The child indicated the assaults started as a monthly occurrence but "had grown into more of a daily occurrence."

The criminal complaint says Chatfield police later questioned Peters, and he admitted to inappropriate touching.

Olmsted County Prosecutors Seek 90-Month Sentence

His plea agreement states that the Olmsted County Attorney's Office will recommend a 90-month prison sentence. Peters was released from custody without bail after he was formally charged in April of last year and will remain free while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted prior to his sentencing hearing this fall.
