Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A man and woman are in custody following a large methamphetamine seizure in Rochester.

The bust happened around 5:40 Wednesday afternoon. 

Rochester Police Department Communications Coordinator Amanda Grayson says the drug bust and subsequent arrests were the result of proactive enforcement by the department’s Criminal Interdiction Unit, Special Enforcement Team and K9 Unit.

Arrest of Man & Woman With Active Warrants Leads to Large Rochester Meth Bust

Criminal Interdiction Unit detectives alerted the Special Enforcement Team to a person with an active arrest warrant in the 1100 block of 6 St. NW. 

Authorities found the subject and also located a second person who also had an active warrant. 

Grayson identified the wanted individuals as 36-year-old Mark Alzamora and 33-year-old Sieherra ColglazierThe Rochester residents were in a parked vehicle. 

K9 Vehicle Sniff Leads to Discovery of Pound of Meth

Upon further investigation, officers deployed a K9 at the scene for a sniff of the vehicle Alzamora and Colglazier were in.

Grayson says the sniff led to the discovery of more than a pound of methamphetamine in the vehicle. 

Criminal Histories

Court records indicate Colglazier has a criminal history that dates back to 2012 and includes felony convictions for property damage and terroristic threats. 

Alzamora’s criminal record dates back to 2009 and includes convictions for felony domestic assault, felony drug possession and felony threats, according to court records. 

In addition to the charges they’re facing with the warrants, Grayson also says the two are expected to face drug charges

Both of their first court appearances have not yet been scheduled.

This 30-foot stainless steel piece of art was created by Po Shu Wang and installed in 2017. If you go inside the Mayo Civic Center, you'll also notice a kiosk that allows visitors to interact with this art sculpture.
