Rochester Man Facing Drug Charges After Picking Up Package Put Together by Rochester PD, Homeland Security
38-year-old Eddie Lee Davis, Jr. is charged with first-degree drug sales, first-degree drug possession and misdemeanor fleeing police.

The criminal complaint says federal investigators informed police that Davis Jr. was buying methamphetamine in bulk and having it shipped through the mail.
The arranged shipment was set up by an individual who was cooperating with the Department of Homeland Security. The court document states it was scheduled to arrive by Wednesday.

Officers and federal agents packaged 112.4 grams of what the complaint says “a representative sample of real methamphetamine” and filled the remainder of the 15-pound package with fake methamphetamine.
An undercover agent then placed the package in the 3500 block of 22nd Avenue NW, which was the pickup location agreed upon by Davis and the cooperating individual.
Authorities watched Davis arrive at the location and pick up the package on Wednesday, the complaint says.

Davis then went to a home in the 900 block of 8th Ave. NE where he was met by officers in marked squad vehicles as he attempted to enter the residence.
He fled from law enforcement on foot, jumping two fences and discarding packages in a backyard storage container while authorities gave chase, the charges say.
Police and federal agents eventually took him into custody.
Conditional bail for Davis was set at $50,000 following his first court appearance on Friday. He is due back in court later this month.
