Mower County Woman Facing Burglary and Assault Charges for Southeast Rochester Home Invasion
Rochester police responded to the report of a burglary and assault at a home in the 1600 block of Marion Rd. SE.
Upon arrival, police found two females, who are identified as victims in the case, holding down a woman, who was later identified as the burglary suspect. She’s also accused of threatening to kill one of the home’s residents, according to the complaint.
The court document alleges that the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Emma Jo Lynn Monson of Waltham, arrived at the home and began throwing rocks at the residence and at a car parked in the driveway that belongs to one of the victims.

The victim who owns the car told police that Monson threw a rock through a window of the home, causing the window to break after she opened the door and told Monson to leave, the complaint says.

Monson then pushed her way into the home, causing the interior door to break, the complaint says. One of the victims was arriving at the home when Monson forced her way in.

She told police she saw Monson pulling a different victim’s hair. The complaint also says Monson bit that victim on the shoulder, leaving behind visible bite marks.
The victim who had arrived during the alleged burglary says she pulled Monson out of the home and that Monson had punched her in her right eye.
Monson then resumed throwing rocks at one of the victim's vehicles, causing its windshield to break, the charges say.

Monson then went to the back of the house and regained entry before breaking items belonging to the owner of the car she’s alleged to have thrown rocks at, the complaint says.
The victim who pulled Monson out of the home the first time grabbed Monson again and told officers Monson bit her thumb.
The victim then held Monson down and got help from her fellow resident until police arrived, the court document indicates.
Evidence of Damage Found at Scene
Officers documented the broken house window, broken vehicle windshield and dents to the home’s exterior appeared to have been caused by rocks, the complaint says.
