Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A plea agreement has resulted in a sentence of two years on probation for a Stewartville man who was accused of stealing a Good Samaritan’s vehicle after being involved in a traffic crash in northwest Rochester last year.

Under the terms of the plea deal, 27-year-old Andrew Troy Bisbee entered a guilty plea to a misdemeanor DWI offense. In exchange, Olmsted County prosecutors dismissed a felony count of vehicle theft, another misdemeanor DWI charge, and a misdemeanor charge of failing to stop for a property damage collision.

All of the charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on March 23 of last year along 55th St., Northwest. According to the criminal complaint, it was reported that an eastbound SUV went through the intersection of 18th Ave., where the driver lost control and the SUV he was driving rolled multiple times before landing on its wheels.

The SUV then continued traveling to the east in the westbound lanes of 55th St. before the driver, later identified as Bisbee, stopped and allegedly stole of vehicle from a nurse would stopped to help him. Shortly after a Rochester police officer arrived, the complaint says Bisbee ditched the vehicle and ran off into a field.
