
Three People injured in Two Crashes Just Outside of Lake City
Lake City, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol and other emergency responders were busy Thursday afternoon dealing with two injury crashes near Lake City.
Two people from Red Wing were transported to St. Marys Hospital following a head-on collision on Highway 61 north of Lake City around 4:45 PM. The State Patrol says the crash involved two SUVs traveling in opposite directions on Highway 61 about a mile north of the entrance to Hok-Si-La Park.
Non-Life Threatening Injuries
The State Patrol identified the drivers as 39-year-old Scott Wells and 32-year-old Katie Nibbe-Gadient. They were both wearing seatbelts, and their injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Vehicle Left Roadway
The other crash was reported just before 3:15 PM on Highway 61 about 2 1/2 miles south of Lake City. The State Patrol crash report says 70-year-old Lyle Monsebroten of Onalaska, Wisconsin, was driving an SUV traveling south on the highway when it left the roadway and crashed.
Seatbelts Used
The State Patrol indicated he was transported to Lake City Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He was also wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The crash reports for both incidents indicate alcohol was not a factor.
