Convicted Rochester Drug Dealer Charged Following Cocaine Bust Enters Guilty Plea

Rochester, MN (RochesterNow)- A convicted Rochester drug dealer has entered a guilty plea that stems from a cocaine bust made last year.

The criminal complaint says Rochester police found two baggies containing a large amount of suspected cocaine that weighed out to 29 grams while executing a search warrant at the man’s home in February of 2025.

Investigators were conducting surveillance on the home of 38-year-old Mason David Zill prior to executing the warrant.

Law enforcement also found multiple digital scales with cocaine residue, a spoon and empty plastic baggies, items that are indicative of drug sales, according to the court document. Zill also had $692 in cash on him.

Officers also found messages and money transactions between Zill and a person with cocaine at the end of January on the person’s phone, the complaint says. 

Court records indicate Zill was convicted of first-degree sales in March of 2023. He was charged with one count of first-degree drug sales and a count of second-degree drug possession following the raid. 

Terms of Plea Agreement

Zill entered a plea agreement that calls for him to enter a guilty plea to an amended third-degree drug possession charge, according to court records.

The agreement recommends a stayed prison sentence. Zill’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for November.
