Weather Forces Closures at Olmsted County Fair Today

We finally have some rain falling in the Rochester, Minnesota area. Unfortunately, this is also when the Olmsted County Fair is open. Due to the weather we are experiencing on Friday, July 31st, a few of the activities at the fair are closed for the day.

Weather Update on Friday, July 31st, for the Olmsted County Free Fair

Around noon, the following note was posted to the Olmsted County Fair Facebook page regarding changes to schedules and closings due to the weather:

Olmsted County Free Fair Weather Update
Due to today’s weather, Gold Star Amusements (Carnival) and the Free Stage are closed for the day.
Food and commercial vendors are open at their own discretion.
The livestock are still here, so you’re welcome to come out and visit the animals if you choose.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we keep the safety of our guests, exhibitors, vendors, and staff our top priority.

New Hours For Gold Star Amusements at the Olmsted County Fair on Saturday and Sunday

Due to the weather on Friday and needing to close the carnival rides for the day, new hours have been added for Saturday and Sunday.

Gold Star Amusements will now be open:

Saturday, August 1st from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm
Sunday, August 2nd from 11:00 am until close
