If you like supporting local farmers and buying goods from Farmer's Markets, then this little shop was made for me and you!

It's a little farmstand called Clover's that just opened in Rochester. It's open 24/7 and gives you access to items from local farmers for a small membership fee. I promise, it's actually small.

They're only in a pilot program right now, so who knows how this idea will change as it becomes more popular.

Clover's Community Farmstand Opens in Rochester

Clover's is a little red house next to District 507 Gym at 2410 N Broadway Ave.

On the outside you'll find a QR code to scan to become a member so you can access the shop. I would suggest heading to their website and doing it at home first, though, because I stood outside and did it and it was kind of a pain. Not too bad, but it would have been way easier to do sitting at home.

Anyway, you'll get signed up and during the pilot program it's only $6.99 to get access. Not too shabby!

You'll have to download an app called UniFi Endpoint that will allow you to access the lock for the door. Once you get everything situated, you'll tap the button on the UniFi app and, boom, the door unlocks for you.

Inside, you'll find amazing products from local farmers.

There's frozen meat, eggs, flowers, lots of produce, honey, and syrup. As time passes, of course, the produce available will be different depending on what's growing.

The farmstand is unmanned, so what you do is pick out what you want and as you shop, you pay the farmer's directly as you go via Venmo.

When I was there I grabbed a bunch of onions, sent the money to that farmer, then grabbed some garlic, sent the money to that farmer, put it all in a bag (they have plastic bags but feel free to bring your own bag), and off I went.

It was super easy and nice to know that my money was going directly to the farmer. Also, having 24/7 access to a spot like this is amazing.

The pilot appears to be going on in August and September. I'm not sure what pricing for memberships will look like after that or what the farmer partnerships will looks like but I hope the pilot is a success and this sticks around.
