
Old Farmer’s Almanac Issues Spring Weather Outlook for Upper Midwest
We’ve officially reached that point in the year where everyone is done with winter, especially after last weekend’s pummeling. The calendar says the vernal equinox arrives this Friday, March 20, and Mother Nature is offering a taste of early summer on Saturday, with temperatures in southeast Minnesota expected to soar into the low 70s.
Unfortunately, the latest prediction from the Old Farmer’s Almanac suggests our transition to spring might be a bumpy ride.

The Old Farmer’s Almanac has been predicting the weather since 1792 and claims to have an 80% accuracy rate over its two-century history.
Although neither we nor any other forecasters have as yet gained sufficient insight into the mysteries of the universe to predict the weather with total accuracy, we correctly predict the weather about 80% of the time.
The Spring Forecast for Minnesota
The Old Farmer's Almanac team just released their spring outlook for the Upper Midwest, and they are calling for "chilly and unsettled" conditions over the next couple of months.
The roller-coaster winter we just experienced will continue through the spring, with temperatures bouncing up and down. Expect generally cooler-than-normal temperatures, along with frequent precipitation—including periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and even some late-season snow.
