Were you at Keith Urban's sold out show last Friday at the Minnesota State Fair? If not, you missed an incredible show by one of the top musicians -- in any genre -- out there performing today.

I'd seen Keith a couple of times before (and even met him backstage at Country Jam several years ago) so I knew he'd put on a good show. And, he sure didn't disappoint us. He kept the momentum going while he played a ton of his many hits, under a full moon and a perfect Minnesota night. He even did an impromptu version of "Werewolves of London" as a nod to the moon over the grandstand. He did mess up the location twice-- once calling the Great Minnesota Get-Together a "county fair" and later referring to it as the "Minneapolis State Fair" but that's understandable from a guy who hails from Australia.

He got it right later, though, during "Sweet Thing," when he improvised the lyric, "On a Friday night at the Minnesota State Fair, you can get fried anything."  He also went out into the crowd for a version of "You Look Good In My Shirt," (which he turned into a singalong) and brought a local St. Paul guy up on stage to sing a verse of "Kiss A Girl." Overall, while he didn't have his usual slick video set-up that turns the entire backdrop into a video screen (when he performs at a venue like the Xcel Energy Center or Target Center), it was still an incredible show.

And Kelsea Ballerini, who opened for Keith, appears to be the real deal, too. She sounded great doing "Love Me Like You Mean It" and her new release, "Dibs." Seeing as she's just 21 years old, I'm guessing she's she's got a lot of great things yet to come in her career.

What did Keith think of performing here in Minnesota? Here's a video Keith posted on his Twitter feed, shot right after he got off stage at the State Fair...
