It looks like Minnesota won't be chilling with Kenny Chesney at U.S. Bank Stadium until 2022.

Kenny Chesney has once again decided to postpone his Chillaxification Tour-- including a stop at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. This is the second time the tour has been been pushed back due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you recall, Kenny's Chillaxification Tour was originally planned for the spring and summer of 2020. But, of course, THAT didn't happen (thanks, coronavirus) and Kenny last year postponed it to the spring and summer of 2021. In fact, Kenny and Old Dominion were due to perform at U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday, June 5th. But now that date was been postponed, as well. And, right now, a new date here in Minnesota hasn't yet been announced.

A press release explains he would rather wait another year for the all-clear than try to run the tour at reduced capacity and with pandemic-related guidelines and safety regulations varying from state to state and venue to venue.

That's especially relevant to the Land of 10,000 Lakes, where large events are still subject to restrictions. In fact, this Bring Me The News story notes that Minnesota is right now authorizing large venues (with over 500 people) to operated at 25% capacity, allowing the Twins to have 10,000 fans at Target Field for their home opener on April 8th.

The capacity of U.S. Bank Stadium is around 73,000, so using those same calculations, only 18,625 fans would be allowed in to see Kenny's show. Which is no doubt why he's postponing the entire tour until 2022. Fans who purchased tickets for Chesney's 2020 or 2021 shows can opt to either hang on to their tickets, which will be honored at the rescheduled shows, or request refunds via their point of purchase. New dates are set to be announced soon.

And while the sounds of Kenny Chesney singing one of his many hits won't happen here in Minnesota again this year, there ARE some way-cool sounds that we love to hear in the North Star State. Keep scrolling to check them out!
