Lauren Alaina’s ‘Humble and Kind’ Waltz Advances Her to ‘DWTS’ Finale
Lauren Alaina will keep dancing. The singer and Dancing With the Stars contestant did the Viennese Waltz to get to the show's final week, performing her dance over a version of Tim McGraw's "Humble and Kind."
The elegant slow dance contrasted a sexier paso doble that came earlier in the night — that performance was quite eye opening for those who first met the now 25-year-old in 2011 when she was just 16 on American Idol.
Wearing a flowing pink gown, Alaina and partner Gleb Savchenko moved with an easy grace across the television studio stage. Her smile during this second dance seemed to be one of relief, whereas the first dance was clearly the more challenging, especially given her physical condition. It was also McGraw approved.
Alaina's first dance was a steamy paso doble that found her dressed in black leather and passing through a gathering of hunky men before reaching Savchenko. Before giving both dances a score of 27 out of 30, the judges praised her for being sophisticated and showing total command of the dancefloor.
Next week is the finale of Season 28 of Dancing With the Stars, and once again a country singer will appear. Joining Alaina for the final week will be comedian Kel Mitchell, former Bachelorette contestant Hannah Brown and Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke. James Van Der Beek was eliminated on Monday night, to the surprise of viewers and fans.
Previous country singers and personalities who've excelled on Dancing With the Stars include winners Kellie Pickler and Bobby Bones, and finalists Chuck Wicks, Sara Evans and Jana Kramer.
