Light Snow Likely Factor in Deadly Crash Near Zumbrota
Zumbrota, MN (KROC-AM News) - The slick conditions created by the light snow that fell across the region overnight may have contributed to a fatal crash in Goodhue County this morning.
The State Patrol says a 22-year-old man from Rosemount was fatally injured in the crash that was reported around 5:50 AM on Highway 52 just north of Zumbrota. The crash report says the victim was traveling south on the Highway when his vehicle went through the median and collided with a northbound car.
The other driver, 76-year-old Cletus Pfeiffer of Rochester, was transported to St. Mary's Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The name of the young man killed in the crash has not been released.
